Confused in Santa Fe

I'm confused! Republican rule and laissez faire corporate capitalism has crashed our economy and is destroying our country and the voters are going to punish the Democrats instead of electing more liberal democrats? Maybe we should change our name to Ameria-DUH!!

We need campaign finance reform!!!!!!

2009-Problem Solving Abounds

My 2009 resolution is to be a problem solver. I'm going to be the problem solver guy. If you have a problem that needs solved just ask and you will get the answer. If you implement my answer you will be better off. You may not think so at first but I guarantee all my answers.

I'll show you my abilities by solving 2 problems by bringing people together.

The other night I was watching TV and I saw a sad commercial by the ASPCA. Those dogs and cats needed to give meaning to someones life. I felt so sorry for them in those cages. The very next commercial really pulled on my heartstrings as well. It was the World Wildlife Fund. They showed a polar bear mother and cub floating on a small iceberg and talked about how global warming is killing the majestic polar bear. It talked about how the melting ice has decreased the food supply of the mother polar bears and how cubs were dieing.

That's when it hit me. Take the extra cats and dogs and feed the polar bears.

Problem Solved

If you need a problem solved just send me a quick note and I'll come through for you but you will owe me a favor when I call on you.

Don't you think a polar bear family would find him tasty?

Thank you,
Problem Solver Guy

FINALLY

Darkness has been beaten. The sun will once again shine on America. While there was a huge racist, right-wing, theocratic vote, they can go forward knowing that Barack will represent them and promote things that will benefit them. I can not recall one thing President Bush did that represented me or promoted my values.

The Constitution will once again be protected. It is time to put it back together and prosecute BushCo for all their crimes. We can not let them off the hook under the guise of unity and moving forward. We can not move forward without punishing those who conspired to destroy our most sacred document. We must send a message to future generations that America will not stand for Executive pillaging of the Constitution.

Shredders are working overtime in the darkened corners of the White House. We can not forget. We will remember.

Hope reigns. America is once again the beacon for the world. We must now hold our new elected officials accountable. We can not fade into the background and think things will magically change. We expect every vote to be counted and now we must hold them accountable for every vote they cast. If America stays attuned to our political process then we can change the world. YES WE CAN.

Congratulations America. Now the work begins.

WOW!!!

He did it.

Barack was great! It is on to Ohio, New Mexico, Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nevada, Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, and back to Colorado and then on to the White House.

Vote for Barack Obama if you believe America can be better than we have been.

Learning from the past

I hope Barack Obama learns the lesson from the past 2 Democratic nominees. He can not wait to find his voice until after November as Gore and Kerry did. He has to tell America in no uncertain terms that John McCain does not care about you.

He has a harder road than both of those candidates because of his skin color and name. He has to hit McCain hard and keep beating him until well after Nov. 4th. He has to get his message out in spite of the corporate medias bias for John McCain.

I watched the convention tonight and the best speech was not televised. John Kerry delivered a hell of a speech. I'm sure you can find it on the DNC's site so look for it if you missed it.

It is time working class and middle class Americans woke up and realized the Republicans have nothing to offer them, but smear and fear. So if you want 4 more years of partisan attacks and a do nothing government then by all means vote for John McMorebush. If you want a new direction for America then vote for Obama.

Please Senator Obama go after McCain. Do not hold anything back. We can not afford to look back after Nov. 4th and say what if. The Democrats must be prepared for voter fraud and challenge in every state. We must be prepared and stop voter caging and vote switching. Our democracy depends on every vote note only being counted but being counted correctly.

Barack can kick this thing off tomorrow and start the burial of the Republican party. I'll be watching and I hope you will also.

Typical Mentally Weak Liberal

Let me preface this by saying I was brought up your typical lower middle class emotionally bankrupt boy. When I say emotionally bankrupt, I mean I was expected to tough everything out and not cry. After all “There is no crying in baseball.”, or life for that matter.
It is 4:00 in the morning on Aug . 10th. I am sitting at my in-laws kitchen table writing to you as to why I am doing this. (Who is this great YOU I am writing to anyway. Is it myself just trying to explain my life? Or am I looking for something out of this from the bloggers of the WWW? Something to ponder another time I guess.) Anyway here I sit after tossing and turning in bed for 30 minutes trying to get some sleep before another huge travel day tomorrow. I am in the process of driving from Myrtle Beach back to my home in Santa Fe. We are doing it in 3 legs MB to Birmingham, then Birmingham to Shawnee, OK, then Shawnee to home. It breaks the trip up nicely for the children and allows them to see their grandparents.
So where was I? Oh yea. I was telling you why I was writing you this morning. I had a dream this morning that startled me enough that I could not go back to sleep no matter how bad I needed to or wanted to. I awoke from the dream an emotional wreck.

The Dream

I am sitting in a field, more like a fairgrounds , awaiting the arrival of the 2 presidential candidates for a debate. There is only about 5 people waiting and that is all that show up. The next thing I know Obama and McCain are there answering questions from the crowd of 5. The weird thing is they never really speak during this entire question and answer session. I hear the questions from the crowd and I am able to insert their stump speech, cow-towing answers for them on every issue. Then I think of what I guess is 2 questions which I want answers to but I can not answer myself. The questions were going to be When are you going to bring our troops home from Iraq? And Why do we always talk about the money going into this occupation as if we have it to spend elsewhere when we are putting the entire occupation on our kids and grand kids credit cards?
I start to ask the first question directed toward Senator Obama and I lose it. When are you as President going to bring our men and women (and I start crying like a blubbering idiot) home from Iraq? I can not take it that another American hero has to die from another roadside bomb to protect Exxon’s profits. I can’t even get to the second question . Which I think is a much better question. At this point I try to compose myself and get the second question out but I can’t do it. I am emotionally spent and I just don’t know the answer to the first question. I can’t answer it myself and Obama nor McCain are speaking. I am standing there crying uncontrollably in front the next leader of the free world and my question is going unanswered.
I wake up. I have no idea what time it is. I am in a room without windows or a clock, and I am emotionally drained. I can’t stop replaying the dream in my head. I can’t imagine why I would ever in a million years ever get so emotional even in a dream. It is just not me. I can’t think why I feel drained in real life. I can’t go back to sleep so here I sit writing to the great and powerful YOU.
I am an American who does not know any soldiers? I have no personal ties to this illegal occupation of Iraq. I have a very small immediate family circle of which no one ever served in the military. I do not speak for any military family or from some great knowledge base about the sacrifices they are making. However it is extremely sad to me that these American heroes are being used by fascist leaders to protect American corporations profits. Now we are in a situation where we can’t get them home.
I truly believe a President Obama would do everything in his power to get our troops home as soon as possible. I can not say the same thing for McCain. He now has the big oil pipeline of money that was up W’s ass for 8 years firmly inserted into his rectum. He is the worst sellout in the history of politics. How can you trust anything the man says?
Was this dream about the leader’s inability to speak to me? Was this about my inability to be heard? Was it about Obama being manipulated by McCain into I am tougher than you pissing contest? Was it really about how do we get out of Iraq? Or was it about Obama’s run to the middle and abandonment of his base to appeal to Independents?

Or maybe I just had gas and needed to fart.

Sad and Angry

What we are not allowed to see come home from Iraq.

Last year I pondered how many more of our men and women we would be memorializing this Memorial day. It appears that it is somewhere over 400 this year. Was anything gained by their deaths? I hope so but I can no longer believe anything this White House has to say. I have been lied to so often that I have to question everything they say. It is sad when a democratic society can no longer trust our elected officials.

My wife asked me why I was so gloomy today, but shouldn't we all be a bit sad today. Anytime I think about soldiers in harms way for corporate profits and oil, it makes me sad and angry. Anytime I think about soldiers dieing for no good reason, it makes me sad and angry.

I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day, but I also hope everyone is a little sad and angry and does something about this disaster in Iraq because of their sadness and anger.

Hey fat lady

Well it is time for the fat lady in the democratic primary. When is Hillary going to start singing for us?? The pundits say after Kentucky and Oregon which is fine as long as Hillary and Barack stop focusing on each other and start focusing on Johnny Mcmorewar. Hillary can stay in all the way to the convention as long as she spends her own money and attacks the real evil empire.

Hillary's arrogance cost her this election. She has no one to blame but herself. Her arrogance of inevitability and her unwillingness to take on Bush 4 years ago is what cost her her chance at the presidency. It would have been great for her to be the second Clinton to eliminate a Bush from the White house but she was unwilling to risk it at that time to take a chance. She had to secure her hawkish image and that is what cost her against Barack. Her desire to solidify her military credentials, continuing to support the war, and unwillingness to lead as a Senator instead of every vote being calculated. That is what I dislike about Hillary the most. She is a politicians politician. And she can stay in Washington and have a great career as a Senator.

Now get out there and sing you loser or just attack McCain.

What do we believe?

John McCain thinks Barack Obama is insensitive to the poor and out of touch on economic issues according to the AP.

If you are poor, and by that I mean a family of 4 living on less than $50,000 a year in today's Bush/McCain economy and you take anything Johnny Bombiran says seriously, you may want to keep clinging to your guns, religion, and anti-immigrant thoughts. You are not going to believe anything Barack Obama says because he is black. I'm sorry to tell you but you are a racist like 19% of the people who voted for Hillary Clinton in Pennsylvania, and that was the ones who had the guts to say that to a pollster.

What do I believe?

I believe that now is a time we all need to come together. We need to realize that America is not only headed in the wrong direction but we are moving 180 degrees in the wrong direction. We need to let the big brains run the country for a while. How did we ever elect a president that at least half of America is smarter than and do we really want to go through this for 4 more years?

This election is about what you believe our government is for. Is it to take care of Wall Street or Main street? Are we voting for more corporate welfare or our citizens welfare? do we want actual health care or continued sick care? Do we want "we the people" leadership or "we the rich" leadership?

It is not about John McCain's courting of religious nut jobs or Barack Obama's standing by his 20 year pastor. It is not about the fact that Hillary and McCain want to blow smoke up America's ass while Barack is willing to tell America not only what he believes but where he stands and where we need to go.

It is a time for the brave new America not the fearful, old America that McCain and Hillary hope is voting. Will America overcome its fears? What do you believe?
